Is there a Cycling Classic Fan Fest?

Yes! On the Parkway near the "Iroquois" sculpture, just north of Eakins Oval. Open Saturday, August 29 from 10am to 5pm and then race day Sunday, August 30 between 8am and 5pm - the space will include 150+ vendors, live entertainment, games for all ages, mini-bike courses, and bike demos, plus merch, a beer Garden and café. Can I volunteer or get involved?

According to the organizers, "volunteers are needed to support multiple tasks for the race including course marshaling, hospitality assistance, medical control athlete escorts, awards, and assistance with the AACR Ride before the pro race." Sign up to help at this link.

If you're coming to the Philadelphia Cycling Classic, make time to explore the Park to Broad District while you're here. It is! First raced in 1985, and after a decade-long hiatus, the Philadelphia Cycling Classic returns to the city's streets on Sunday, August 30. Riders will circle the course's 14.4-mile loop multiple times - from Logan Square, down Kelly Drive, up the Manayunk "wall," and back to the city through East Fairmount Park and past Lemon Hill - starting with the 62-mile women's race from 8:30am to 11:30am followed by the men racing 120 miles between Noon and 4:45pm. GETTING AROUND

Taste of Fairmount is one of my absolute favorite neighborhood events! I love sampling all of the neighborhood restaurants and always find a wonderful new spot or dish that I didn’t know before the event. Also great catching up with neighbors and enjoying the speciality cocktails. 🥂

The Taste of Fairmount is our favorite local event by far. What makes it a must-come for us is a chance to eat, drink, and laugh with neighbors, both known and not yet known, while celebrating our small pocket of Philadelphia. The bonus is having an opportunity to meet and discuss the food, the thinking behind the menus, the challenges, and rewards with the restaurant owners and staff. A true insiders view. There is not a year in which we have not walked home at the end of the night feeling as though we were in the room when something special took place.
