Local Business News
2025 was last call for several neighborhood favorites, and opening celebrations for others. We welcomed Val's Restaurant, Saidi’s Spot, Baby’s Kusina, Stephen’s Cafe, Javelin, Honeysuckle, Manong, Human Robot Girard, Poe’s Side Piece, Illest Flavors, SendIt Philly, and Tinker & Trade Co. while making final visits to The Boozy Mutt, The Monkey & The Elephant, Tela's, Crime and Punishment, and Platinum Fruit Creations. There’s lots more on the way for 2026; keep following our Instagram and the headlines section of parktobroad.org for local business news.
Changes to Trash Collection in Park to Broad District

Lastly, a big change for the new year - twice-weekly trash collection begins today, January 5:
If your usual collection day is Monday, there will be a second collection on Thursday.
Blocks with Wednesday pickup will have Saturday as their second collection.
Those with Friday pickup will have Tuesday as their second collection day.
A few important notes:
Don’t leave anything on the street prior to 5pm, the night before collection (or 7pm in the summer).
There is no second collection during holiday weeks (like MLK Day week, on January 19).
The second collection is for trash only, not recycling.
For items not eligible for curbside collection (electronics, paint, motor oil, tires, construction debris, furniture) schedule a special pickup at bulkcollection.phila.gov
