So many thanks to all the neighbors, volunteers, businesses, and partners that made Saturday’s Girard Avenue Street Festival and April’s Fairmount Arts Crawl successful. There is lots more ahead!

  • The latest on Fan Fest at Lemon Hill (setup starting next Tuesday!) and city plans to keep the neighborhood accessible during the World Cup.

  • New businesses, coming to the neighborhood, and local businesses named as 2026 Philly Favorites!

  • Bike Month, Preservation Fest, and The Philly Cycling Classic.

Fifa Fan Fest

Monday evening’s Neighbor Information Session for Fan Fest confirmed that event construction at Lemon Hill will start next Tuesday, May 26 - closing the park through the end of July, and preventing public access between Girard Avenue and Kelly Drive during setup; Fan Fest will open on June 11 with free access, daily (register here) through the end of the World Cup on July 19.

Keep up with all that neighbors need to know for Fan Fest and other summer events via parktobroad.org/residents - PPA has a FAQ specific for parking, at the bottom of their Lemon Hill page. Visit philapark.org/lemonhill to register your vehicle and request passes for guests; businesses should call 215-683-9730; and everyone can email fanfest2026@phila.gov with questions.

Community Events

There's more coming to Lemon Hill later this summer, with the return of the Philly Cycling Classic on August 30! Celebrate 100 days until the race at their Parks on Tap Pep Rally, at the Water Works next Thursday, May 28 from 6pm-8pm.

New Businesses Coming Soon

We have news of new businesses in the neighborhood - Queen & Rook is planning a "‘retrofuturist’ second location for Thirsty Dice’s former space at 1642 Fairmount Avenue - and an Italian BYOB 'Valentina' is replacing Figs on Meredith Street which went "out on top" at the beginning of the month.
