What's Happening This Weekend

As part of 52 Weeks of Firsts - a yearlong celebration of city history- Eastern State is hosting a family-friendly “Firstival” this Saturday, October 3 with free admission (advanced registration suggested). The site opens at 10am, the activity fair with artist-in-residence Cody Stuhltrager runs 11:30-2pm, and there will be live music and then a spoken word performance between 11:30 and 12:45!
Hispanic and Latin Heritage Month
September 15 through October 15 is Hispanic and Latin Heritage Month! Celebrate at the PMA with a special Friday night program on October 9. Latino-owned businesses across our community include EC Urban Gardens, Tinker & Trade, Italian Express, 2637 Brew, Lemon Hill Aikido, Angelino's Restaurant, and Flores Coffee Shop.
Halloween Headquarters
There is no better place in the city to celebrate Halloween than Fairmount, Brewerytown, Francisville and Spring Garden! Find all the details on special events, business specials, costume parades and more at parktobroad.org/halloween

Tonight - Thursday, October 1 - is Neighbors Night hosted by FCA and FESPP on the Brown Street Lawn, with music, drinks, and food from 5pm-8pm
Francisville Garden & Greenspace Collective has two events upcoming - Roots, Hoops & BBQ at MLK Park on Poplar this Saturday, October 3 from 2-6pm + Francisville Fall Fest on October 24, 4-8pm at Ogden Park
Fairmount Indie Showcase, “bringing local, live, original music back” to the neighborhood is this Saturday, October 3 from 6-11pm at The Ukrainian League on 23rd Street.
Meet us on Monday afternoon October 5 from 3:30pm for a Community Celebration at Lemon Hill with food and music, a “thank you to the Park's neighbors for helping host the FIFA Fan Festival this summer,” and kick-off for the playground, basketball court, and picnic area renovations + new tree plantings.
The Art Market at Aiyah on Fairmount returns next Saturday, October 10
October 10 is also Heritage Festival day in East Fairmount Park - a trio of the historic mansions - Ormiston Mansion, Laurel Hill Mansion and Woodford Mansion - will be open for tours, events and programs for both adults and kids, including craft demonstrations, complimentary tea and sweets, and country dancing. Tickets are required, but the event is free for children 12 and under; parking and shuttles are free as well.
Philadelphia Open Studio Tours, features over 150 artist studios and creative workspaces across 26+ Philly neighborhoods every October, including our own. You can visit spaces west of Broad Street, for free, on October 10 and 11 through this link

Applications for local businesses to apply for grants up to $2000 from our Small Business Fund are open until next Friday, October 9.
