Twice-Weekly Trash Collection Comes to Park to Broad District

A big change is coming to the Fairmount, Brewerytown, Francisville and Spring Garden neighborhoods for the new year - twice-weekly trash collection began January 5, 2026. Here's what you need to know:


  • If your usual collection day is Monday, there will be a second collection on Thursday.

  • Blocks with Wednesday pickup will have Saturday as their second collection.

  • Those with Friday pickup will have Tuesday as their second collection day.


A few important notes:


  • Don’t leave anything on the street prior to 5pm, the night before collection (or 7pm in the summer).

  • There is no second collection during holiday weeks (like MLK Day week, on January 19).

  • The second collection is for trash only, not recycling.

  • For items not eligible for curbside collection (electronics, paint, motor oil, tires, construction debris, furniture) schedule a special pickup at bulkcollection.phila.gov
