Today's Business Network Spotlight features Muse Yoga & Fitness, a boutique fitness studio in the Park to Broad Business District.
Tell Us About Your Business!
Muse Yoga & Fitness is a boutique fitness studio at 1513 Ridge Ave offering a variety of heated and non-heated yoga, sculpt, mat Pilates, HIIT, and strength classes — about 30 per week — all under one roof. We also offer private and small group personal training, private yoga, and private Pilates for clients who want more personalized attention. Open since 2021, we're a small, independently-owned neighborhood business that's grown into a genuine community anchor. Alongside our top-tier paid offerings, we're committed to accessibility — offering free virtual classes, a weekly $5 community yoga class, and partnerships with local nonprofits to make movement available to everyone, not just those who can afford a membership.

What Makes You Stand Out?
Muse is intimate, not intimidating. Our class sizes mean instructors know your name, your goals, and what you're working through. We're not a chain, and we're not trying to be. We're a Philadelphia studio through and through: direct, warm, a little scrappy, and deeply committed to the people who walk through our door. We’re welcoming, modification-forward, and unapologetically real — and you’ll never be judged for your skin color, size, experience level, sexual orientation, occupation, religion, or really anything other than how you show up and treat the people around you. Read our Google reviews and you'll see it immediately: Muse is more than a studio. We work hard every day to earn that!

What Current Offerings Would Catch Our Eye?
April is a packed month at Muse. We're running our Bonus Series throughout the month — specialty pop-up classes included in memberships and open to non-members for a $20 drop-in — covering Non-Heated Classical Mat Pilates with Maggie (Tuesdays & Thursdays at noon) and Yin Yoga & Sound Bath with Victoria (April 26 at 5:30 PM). On the events side: April 12 we're hosting an All-Levels Birthday Yoga Pop-Up with content creator @sweatylaurenti ($10, open to all); April 19 we're co-hosting a Community Yoga fundraiser with Yoga4Philly (donations will be matched by the Hamilton Family Trust); and April 25 we're taking it outside for a Spark Rooftop Pop-Up with Christina from @PhillyFoodLadies! We also host free beginner-friendly workshops (CAYA = Come As You Are) about quarterly for anyone who's been “class curious” but hasn't taken the leap yet — follow us to stay tuned for the next round!
Why Do You Love Working in the Park to Broad District?
Because this neighborhood doesn't pretend to be something it's not, and neither do we ;)
Ridge Ave is a corridor that remains underdeveloped, and we're proud to be an anchor on it. We didn't land here by accident. We opened here because we believed in what this neighborhood could become, and we've watched that belief pay off in real time — in the friendships formed after class, the regulars who've been here since day one, and the new faces who found us and never left. This community’s got GRIT, SOUL, HEART, and more (check out www.museyogaphl.com/classes for the rest of that list!) just like Muse.
What was your inspiration for opening the business?
Muse was founded by Maggie Greene (a yoga and Pilates instructor, fitness coach, and certified personal trainer) who lived in the Fairmount area for nearly a decade and wanted to build something that reflected this incredible city known for its grit and heart. The vision was never a perfectly curated, high-gloss fitness experience. It was a space where people could show up exactly as they are, day-in-day-out, and feel genuinely welcomed. Today, that’s exactly what you’ll find at Muse, and the entire team embodies the culture every day. Our instructors bring deep expertise across yoga, mat Pilates, and strength training, and they excel at meeting each client where they are. We also run a Yoga Teacher Apprenticeship program, training the next generation of Philly instructors right here in the neighborhood.
