Celebrating Black History Month
February is Black History Month! We are creating a Guide to Local Black-owned Businesses, you can browse Black-owned businesses on the Park to Broad Directory.

Celebrate with our neighbors at Smith Memorial Playground through their Leaders & Legends of Philadelphia exhibit from February 10 to February 28. This year Smith is highlighting “Black youth leaders who are taking meaningful, courageous action in Philadelphia today.”

“Tasties Award” Nominations for Honeysuckle & Baby's Kusina + Market, as well as inclusion on Philadelphia Magazine’s “50 Best Restaurants” list
Eastern State announced their yearlong ‘‘A Time for Liberty’ series - free, family-friendly events exploring liberty, justice and reform to mark the country’s 250th birthday
Philly Art Center & Kith + Kin made this list of "31 Things To Do With Your Baby in Philly"
Resy Philadelphia’s "Guide to Date Night in Philadelphia" included Cicala at the Divine Lorraine plus Osteria and Libertee Grounds
Bar Hygge is celebrating their 10th anniversary all this week, starting with a food drive tomorrow, local music on Wednesday, and new contests and events each day until their Valentine’s Market on February 11
Every neighborhood needs a great dive bar, and we have at least two! Krupa's Tavern & Lorraine were included in The Inquirer’s “Ultimate Dive Bar Map”!
On the “local celebrity” side, last week’s 'Philly is Unrivaled' women’s basketball showcase spotlighted Girard College alum Kahleah Copper on the court, and earned current Girard College student Autumn Crosby a shoutout on Good Morning America!
Small Business Fund Opens February 9

Park to Broad's new Small Business Fund minigrant program will open for applications next Tuesday, February 9. For this round, storefront businesses in Fairmount, Brewerytown, Francisville, and Spring Garden are eligible for grants of $500-$2,000; membership in the Park to Broad Business Network is required, so sign up now if you have not already! There will be a second round of funding next fall as well.

Community goals drive everything we do at Park to Broad. Take five minutes to complete our survey BY FEBRUARY 9 to inform neighborhood priorities and our work for 2026 and beyond. Join us for Runnin’ On Business, a free run/walk series supporting small business districts in Philly. Feb 28, 9a, Together Skateboard Cafe
We're excited to bring back for year two, Runnin' On Business, a Philly Track Jawn designed to bring accessible running + walking events to small business districts throughout Philly.
This is more than just a runs, it's about:
✔️Getting people from and in the neighborhood moving
✔️Building bridges to create meaningful connections across communities
✔️Driving support to small businesses in historically underserved communities
Join us to kickoff year two as, connect with the community, and support local businesses.
